Age: 17 Height: 165 cm The main protagonist of KonoSuba. A sixteen-year-old Japanese teenager who became a game-obsessed shut-in after having his heart broken over his childhood friend during middle school. He is sent to the parallel reality after dying from acute stress reaction, forcing Aqua to come with him after she irritates him with her attitude. Kazuma is classed as an Adventurer which, despite being the lowest ranked class, allows him to learn various skills from other classes, albeit at an increased cost. Before he died, Kazuma used to be a shut-in, who stopped attending school and spent the days locked in his bedroom, playing video games. Because of his laziness, Kazuma is also quite greedy, knowing he needs money in order to provide for himself without working daily, just working hard in order to fill his pockets. Also, thanks to his high Intelligence and Luck stats, Kazuma has a great business sense, and he is always ready to engage in good businesses. Even so, Kazuma lets himself be carried away by the wealth or the moment sometimes and wastes money partying or on luxuries. Futhermore, because Kazuma spent his young playing video games and reading manga, he views his life in the Parallel World as a video game. While Kazuma has common sense, he often associates the Parallel World elements to video game tropes, getting frustrated by its realism, as well as comparing his love life to a dating sim and classifying people around him as manga archetypes. Kazuma has a sister complex too, not only gushing over "little sis" types, but being easily played by the words "Big Bro" (onii-chan, お兄ちゃん). Because Kazuma is basically a babysitter for his "troubled children" party, he became a very stressed person too. Since Kazuma is always taking responsibility for Aqua, Megumin and Darkness' trouble and trying to clean up their mess, and due to the surfeit of problems he deals with everyday, Kazuma became a very temperamental person, prone to outbursts of anger, sadness and even joy. Moreover, since he bears responsibility for his party, he doesn't hesitate to punish them for their missteps. After starting a new life in the Parallel World, Kazuma decided to unleash himself. While he is quite attuned deep down, Kazuma is still outspoken too, speaking whatever comes to his mind, no matter who it hurts. Because of his impertinence, teasing and sarcasm, he has trouble showing his kindness, being gentle or cruel according to mood, also using the "true gender equality" speech to hold women to the same standard. Though Kazuma can be warm, particularly with children, he is also tough and bitter, even with his friends. In spite of having perverted instincts, Kazuma still keeps his hormones in check, therefore he doesn't harass women unabashedly. However, Kazuma seizes the moment to harass artfully the girls with whom he interacts (other than Aqua and "li'l sister" archetypes like Iris), such as trying to feel Megumin's chest on his back while giving her a piggyback ride, peeping under her skirt while she naps, and seizing Chris' chest while immobilizing her. Even so, Kazuma gets flustered with evolving intimacy and is prone to fumbling. While Kazuma's type is busty women with long hair and he is fond of 14 years old girls, besides enjoying the idea of women vying for him, Kazuma is actually looking for a kind and sensible girl (a typical novel heroine), thus he is easily won over by anyone who extends him kindness, whether she is a slightly older woman or a younger girl, even accepting Iris' romantic feelings, despite her being out of his strike zone. His heart skips a beat at any kind gesture too, even from Aqua. Kazuma is a coward too, being willing to back down and flee from his enemies while tearfully apologizing, and even use his companions as a shield, although he can overcome his fears in order to help his friends. Also, thanks to his cowardice, Kazuma doesn't kick out his companions of the party nor flirt with them, since he is afraid of changing the status quo. Kazuma, however, has some nerve, since he often grovels for forgiveness and gets naked in public shamelessly. Also, Kazuma is clever and artful, often making sneaky and pragmatic strategies during fights, thanks to his video games experience, as well as gaslighting both his enemies and allies in different situations. He is willing to smooth-talk his companions to get what he wants, as well as to keep things from them. Still, Kazuma is reliable in decisive moments, such as life-threatening situations, and honest, because while he may stretch the truth, Kazuma never lies, takes advantage of others or exploits the problems caused by his party. Moreover, Kazuma is, according to Megumin, a weak-willed man with, according to Aqua, the mental resilience of tofu. While he tries to look cool in suitable circumstances, Kazuma is very frivolous, letting fame, popularity and prestige go to his head. He is also both a sore loser and a sore winner, acts on impulse often, and is lured by temptations of the flesh and money, no matter how resolute Kazuma is. Kazuma is an ordinary and weak-looking, plain faced young man of around 5'5" (165 cm), weighing 120 lb (55 kg) with slightly messy chestnut-brown hair and green eyes (brown eyes in the novels). His usual outfit initially was a green tracksuit, but later he started using an adventurer outfit consisting of a gold-trimmed green mantle, white shirt, pants, and leather boots. He wore a short sword on his belt, later replaced by his short katana, Chunchunmaru.

Whereas his party members are too specialized, Kazuma has the opposite problem: he does not excel in anything. Almost all his stats are average, and his only decent ones are his above-average Intelligence, causing him to be surprisingly strategic and creative, and his amazing Luck, which is second only to Chris'. Moreover, Kazuma's Adventurer-class allows him to level-up easily and acquire skills from any class or race, gaining a wide variety of them after venturing in the World Largest Dungeon. or alone). Kazuma uses this skill with a special mithril wire able to bind even incorporeal spirits. **Disarm Trap: It disarms traps. Success depends on Luck and Agility. **Trap Detection: It detects traps. Success depends on Luck and Agility. **Enemy Detection: Allows the user to sense hostiles using "Radar-like" pings. **Lurk: Reduces the visibility and scent of the user, and anyone or anything they touch. **Flee: Allows user to make a quick getaway. *Warrior-Class: **One-Handed Sword: Raises proficiency with one-handed swords. *Wizard-Class: **Tinder: Creates a small flame too weak to directly harm enemies. **Create Earth: Produces sand or soil full of nutrients. **Create Water: Shoots a jet of pure and clean water from atmospheric moisture. **Wind Breath: Creates a gust of wind which can redirect small projectiles. **Freeze: Creates a chill able to freeze the surface of the target's body. **Fireball: Shoots a ball of fire that detonates on the target. **Lightning: Summons a lightning bolt. **Flash: Creates a intense light that blinds the opponent. **Unlock: Allows the user to open up any lock or unseal any object. **Teleport: Instantaneously transports up to 4 targets to a marked location. Each user can have 3 marked locations for teleportation. Kazuma marked the boss chamber of the World Largest Dungeon, the entrance of Axel Police Station and Eris's room in the Afterlife. **Explosion: Summons a single beam of light, that detonates at the target, creating a devastating blast of pure magical power. *Undead-Class: **Drain Touch: Absorbs MP and HP from a target, which in turn can be transferred to somebody else. It is more effective where the skin is thin and spots near the heart. This skill, however, isn't effective in enemies with high Vitality, such as Darkness and Mitsurugi. Activation is dependent on the user's Luck. *Ranger-Class: **Set Trap: Increases the power and activation chance of any trap. *Creator-Class: **Create Earth Golem: Creates an earthen golem from the ground soil. *Assassin-Class: **Deadly Backstab: One-hit kills the target in their back if certain conditions are met, such as being undetected. Success rate based on Luck. *Darkstalker-Class: **Eavesdrop: The ability to secretly listen to a conversation from a distance. *General Skills: **Lip Reading: Understand what someone is saying as long as the user can see their mouth. Kazuma usually uses this skill alongside Foresight. *Chef-Class: **Cook: Raises proficiency cooking. Kazuma used this in other to prepare dishes from his homeland, Japan. *Blacksmith-Class **Smithing: Raises proficiency working with metals and manufacturing. He uses his smithing ability to great effect by inventing products from Earth, such as dynamite, condoms, lighters, and kotatsu, as well as repair armor made out of adamantite.
