Father-in-Law Otonashi

Kyoko's father-in-law was thrilled to welcome Kyoko as a member of the family, but when his son Soichiro died only six months after marrying Kyoko, Otonashi continued to let Kyoko stay in his home and gave her the job of manager at Maison Ikkoku in hopes of taking her mind off Soichiro.
