Betty Murphy

Mickey's mother. Although she suffers from rheumatism, she works hard. She also takes care of Jamie, who was left alone after his father passed away. Betty attends to Pollyanna and Carew, who came to visit Jamie when he got a little sick. She lives in poverty, but hates being almsgiving.
