Baby

He is Hijiri's baby. His mother seems oblivious to his unusual behavior and characteristics, such as his abnormally deep voice, intense glee at seeing someone suffering, advanced understanding of language, and even (in the manga) the ability to speak full sentences using complex words. Because of this, everyone but Hijiri seems to be afraid of him.
