She frequently imitates those she admires, such as copying Loid's mannerisms after reading his thoughts or learning how to punch by watching Yor. Because her telepathy leaves her isolated both in the laboratory and later among multiple foster families, Anya immediately becomes attached to Loid upon realizing he is an actual spy. Fascinated by espionage and influenced by cartoons like Spy Wars, she initially wants to follow Loid everywhere in hopes of witnessing the exciting spy work she associates with television. After reading Loid's thoughts and realizing he needed a six-year-old child for his cover, she deliberately lies about her age. Loid himself initially suspects she is younger despite his otherwise sharp intuition. Anya also refers to people by descriptive nicknames rather than their given names, such as calling Damian "Sy-on Boy" after hearing Loid refer to him as the Desmond family's scion. She is also remarkably candid, often expressing her thoughts and feelings without considering how her words may be received. Nevertheless, when confronted with genuine danger or the possibility of losing those she loves, Anya reacts like any child her age, becoming frightened and emotionally overwhelmed. Anya is notably clever and perceptive despite her young age. She is able to spell long words, follow complex instructions, and regularly looks for ways to support Loid and Yor in their respective secret jobs. While her academic performance appears poor compared with her classmates', she nevertheless manages to keep pace with a curriculum intended for children a year older than herself. Anya is a short, young girl with fair skin and large, emerald green eyes. At their first meeting, Loid estimates her age to be no older than four or five. Her eyes are oval-shaped with prominent eyelashes, giving her an expressive appearance. She has light pink, shoulder-length hair that curls inward, with a fringe that falls just above her eyes and a small ahoge at the crown of her head. Anya's signature accessories are a pair of triangular headpieces with yellow accents. She is rarely seen without them, even wearing them while sleeping. The only notable exceptions occur in flashbacks to her past and during the end-of-class gala, where her hair is styled into small buns instead of using the ornaments. Anya is noticeably shorter than most of her peers, a trait that often becomes the target of teasing from Damian and his friends. Despite this, Damian later comes to view her appearance as cute and even pretty. When Loid first meets Anya at the orphanage, she is wearing a simple black dress with a white bowtie at the front, paired with folded white frilly socks and black flats. She continues to wear this outfit at home. At Eden Academy, Anya wears the standard school uniform with white knee-high socks and black Mary Jane shoes.
