A longtime friend of Kelly Stowner's late husband. Al, Kelly, and Kelly's husband had been an inseparable trio since even before Kelly's marriage. Kelly uses this as an excuse to make Al do odd jobs and repairs for her, which he routinely grumbles about but faithfully fulfills. He knows Emma's history and is always ready to lend a hand as far as he can.
