Saito is the childhood friend of Kawana Subaru, and were very close. But Subaru came from a wealthy family, and so she was sent to a top school while Saito had to settle for regular education. After painful studying for many years, he is finally accepted into the same high school as Subaru through a scholarship program only a handful of students are given.
