Shirley

Shirley is the youngest of the four orphans and a quiet, mute girl who expresses herself through gestures and actions. When she discovers Jo unconscious, she instinctively decides to bring her home, sensing a connection. Shirley always carries a cherished book featuring an illustration of a silver-haired angel, a figure she often shows to others—especially Jo, toward whom she develops a deep and heartfelt attachment.
