He is a timid man, as seen when he shyly tries to ask Ryoko out on a date. Though he quickly went to apprehend A when he attacked the school, he was terrified when Hideo Shimada went on his rampage.

He is a slender man with short brown hair and brown eyes. Sasaki is often seen wearing a green sweater with a white collared shirt underneath and slacks. In the manga he appears more sturdy-bodied and wears a light zippered jacket.
