Paul is the strongest man who lives in the village at the foot of Popo Poco Volcano. He has a sister named Mint. During a festival in his village, Paul challenges Tien Shinhan. However Krillin, who wants to impress Mint, fights Paul first and defeats him with a headbutt. When Popo Poco Volcano erupts, he and his sister try to make the elder of the village move, but the elder refuses to leave.
