Naoto became friends with Toudou during university, after Naoto accidentally discovered Toudou was gay and promised to keep it a secret. He tends to be naive when it comes to romance, so he is unaware of Toudou's feelings for him. Naoto is very attached to his little brother, Hokuto, and his self-proclaimed "bro-con" tendencies have lead to the ladies around the office nickname him "Disappointment-kun".
