He and his brother joined the Children's Crusade to have God forgive their mother for committing suicide due to the rumors surrounding their birth. (Back in the Middle Age, having twins meant the mother slept with two different men) Laurent is even tempered, gentle, and much more mature than his younger brother. He gets along well with other boys, and has a dedicated, kind spirit that seems unbroken by even his childhood struggles.
