Italian Girl

She is one of the survivors in Italy, wandering through the zombies (who ignore her) in search of her mother and carrying a round, black and fuzzy thing similar to the creatures in Hiromi's hallucinations. She is beckoned to a tower by a man who then takes her a to a group of survivors on the rooftop. The man soon reveals himself and the others to be zombies, and implies that the little girl — who "sees them as they truly are" — is the queen needed by the invading aliens in order to give birth to hybrids and occupy the planet. When he attempts to grab her, the "Italian Kurusu" suddenly rises and disposes of all the zombies, taking the girl under his protection. Her fate is unknown.
