While Hagen has the polite conduct expected from the chief butler of a well-respected noble household, he is prone to anxiety and panic, particularly with issues related to the House Dustiness, which Hagen serves. Also, while he deeply cares about both Ignis and Lalatina, Hagen seems to have no respect by the later, seeing her as a useless woman whose only strong point is her privilege.
