Earl appeared in A Bout With Sprout (EP132), where he, like in the games, was revealed to host his own Pokémon Academy in Violet City. When Ash and his friends entered the school, Earl danced around while wearing a tutu, much to the embarrassment of the group. However, upon learning that Miss Priscilla loved dancing people, Brock joined in and wore a tutu as well. Later, Earl jumped in the way of Brock's flirting with Miss Priscilla, offering him a chance to stay at the academy, but Brock declined the offer.
