Benedict Ivan Goodfellow

Goodfellow is widely regarded as a principled and authoritative figure within Eden Academy. Faculty members note that he is not a man who can be swayed by bribery, reflecting a reputation for integrity and strict adherence to the institution's standards. He demonstrates a composed and methodical approach to leadership. During the investigation into the allegations against Henry Henderson, Goodfellow maintains order among the faculty and insists on determining the facts before drawing conclusions. He questions irrelevant accusations about Henderson's past and organizes a proper inquiry involving the staff responsible for the storage room and the examination committee. Goodfellow also appears committed to preserving Eden Academy's ideals. After Murdoch Swan's conspiracy is exposed, he formally clears Henderson of wrongdoing and instructs the faculty to reassess their practices as the school moves forward with internal reforms.

Benedict Ivan Goodfellow is an elderly man with a gaunt and severely wrinkled face. His skin is marked by deep, hatched lines across his forehead and cheeks, and he has narrow, sunken, brown eyes with heavy lids. He has a thin, pointed nose, a narrow mouth, and a bald head. Goodfellow's formal attire consists of traditional academic regalia suitable for his position. This includes a black mortarboard cap with a yellow tassel draped to the right side and a dark scholar's robe worn over a white collared shirt.
