Little is shown of 081's personality. He was willing to die as a parasite, sustaining great injury each time he rode with Zero Two. He was annoyed with her indifferent attitude. When he met Hiro, he warned him to be careful around her.

081 was a notably tall and had a stocky build. He had blond-grey hair and bloodshot eyes. He wore a similar outfit to Zero Two, except with a navy blue coat instead of red. He had his left arm in a cast and a breathing mask. He also had a bandage that covers his left eye and forehead. 081's unique uniform indicates that perhaps he, too, was part of a special forces unit, as Nana has twice explicitly stated that the Nines are, in her words, "a special forces unit." Furthermore, his navy blue coat has not yet made an appearance on any other parasite since.
