HeroLicenseExam
The MHA world-building detail that always gets me: hero rankings are based on public popularity AND resolved cases, meaning PR matters more than actual heroism. Mt. Lady is ranked higher than dozens of better heroes because she's marketable. That's not world-building—that's social commentary.
PlusUltraDaily
MHA's best theme is that heroism is a job with a toxic work culture. Heroes are overworked, underpaid, and destroyed by public opinion. Endeavor isn't a villain—he's what the system produces when you tell people their worth is determined by a ranking. The real villain is hero society itself.
OneForAll
Deku using One For All at 100% and destroying his own body isn't just a power mechanic—it's a metaphor for self-sacrifice taken to self-destructive extremes. Every time he breaks his limits, he's literally breaking himself. The series asks: is it heroic to destroy yourself for others, or is it a cry for help?
QuirkDoctor
Shigaraki's origin story is the most devastating in MHA. He wasn't born evil—he was a child whose quirk accidentally killed his family, and All For One found him before anyone else could. The system failed to protect a child, and that failure created its greatest threat.
